Freedom Boat Club is the world’s largest members-only boat club. It was founded in 1989 in Sarasota, Florida. Today, the Clubs 400+ locations welcome thousands of members to its docks each day to enjoy a day on the water, while we take care of the rest, including fueling, cleaning, maintenance and more.
Job Description:
The Dock Staff is the main point of contact for Members at the dock. They are friendly and upbeat individuals who greet Members and ensure that the vessels are presentable. This job offers part-time & full-time positions for immediate hire and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Job Requirements:
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record
- Possess a Boater Safety Certificate / Boaters License
- High school diploma, equivalent, or currently enrolled high school students on track to graduate
- Experience in or around boats is highly preferred
- Must possess strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
- Ability to read and manipulate handheld tablets
- Must be comfortable with physical demands of the role including bending, kneeling, balancing, and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds
- Possess a positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Welcome, acknowledge & assist all guests according to company standards
- Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation
- Make and answer telephone calls & texts using appropriate etiquette
- Manage the check-in and check-out process using a handheld tablet
- Perform equipment checks to make sure all necessary equipment is on board
- Clean and maintain vessels and Club Location according to company standards
- Safely navigate and moor boats between marina dock slips and the fuel dock
- Perform daily clerical work to prepare reservation logs, fuel logs and weather reports
- Be familiar with local waters in order to provide basic guidance to Members
- Speak with others using clear and professional language
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- Work outside in the state’s elements and stand for an extended period of time
- Adhere to all safety policies
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
