Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled 2nd Shift Milling Operator to support the production of precision aerospace components. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to manufacture high-quality parts that meet strict aerospace industry standards. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Duties
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis and/or 5-axis) to produce aerospace components.
- Load raw materials, install tooling, and set machine offsets according to engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins).
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet tight aerospace tolerances.
- Make minor program adjustments or offsets as needed to maintain part quality (based on experience level).
- Perform deburring, edge breaking, and finishing operations as required.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance including coolant checks, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve machining issues.
- Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S standards).
Skills
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Mastercam or similar CAM software knowledge
- Experience with tight tolerance machining (±.0005 or better)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Forklift certification (a plus)
- Experience with aluminum, titanium, and aerospace-grade alloys
Qualifications
- 2+ years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
- Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining processes including drilling, tapping, reaming, and countersinking.
- Experience using precision measuring tools.
- Familiarity with G-code and basic CNC troubleshooting is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently on 2nd shift with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent use of hands for precision work and machine operation
- Exposure to industrial noise, coolant, and metalworking environments

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
