General Summary
A Sandblaster/Coater/ Industrial Painter consists of sandblasting, coating & painting equipment, pipe, vessels etc.
Essential Job Functions
1. Regular and reliable attendance.
2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
3. Perform and fill out pre-trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard, check all fluids/tires/lights/ and all signs as listed on pre-trip.
4. Responsible for coating vessels & tanks.
5. Painting manifolds & pipe structures.
6. Maintenance & clean up on all equipment.
7. Sandblast & coat structural & confined space areas.
8. Follow all KS Fabrication and Machine, Inc. safety, and customer policies and procedures.
9. Be able to work out of town for short periods of time.
10. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.
11. Additional tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English
- Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to work with conventional spray guns, airless pumps, plural pumps, gas monitors, basic hand tools, generators, air compressors, respirators, high pressure hoses, sand blasting equipment, etc.
- Ability to pass a medical evaluation and pulmonary function testing.
Education and Experience
- Preferably 2 years of industry experience
- Driver licensed is preferred
Working Conditions:
The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.
Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8’s and 4-10’s. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed. Start times vary depending on customer needs and ambient temperatures.
