Servers at Tony’s Mexican Restaurant are essential to creating an outstanding guest experience. They provide attentive, friendly, and efficient service while upholding the high standards of hospitality our guests know and love. Servers are expected to confidently recommend and upsell menu items, ensure all orders are accurate, and deliver food promptly. The ideal candidate is proactive, personable, and dedicated to providing the exceptional service that defines Tony’s Mexican Restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time, prepared for work, in full uniform, and adhering to personal grooming standards.
- Greet all guests warmly with a sincere “Welcome home!” and ensure a positive first impression.
- Provide attentive, knowledgeable, and prompt service throughout the dining experience.
- Accurately take orders and enter them into the POS system with attention to guest preferences and allergy requirements.
- Memorize and describe menu items, daily specials, and beverage offerings, making thoughtful recommendations.
- Maintain a high level of food and service quality.
- Upsell menu items and encourage guests to try new dishes, desserts, or drinks with enthusiasm.
- Ensure food is delivered correctly, hot, and attractively plated; promptly resolve any guest concerns.
- Refill drinks, set tableware, pre-bus tables, and reset them quickly for the next guest.
- Ensure the dining area and service stations are clean, stocked, and organized at all times.
- Support teammates by running food, helping bus tables, or stepping in when others need assistance.
- Maintain integrity in all actions — be honest, accountable, respectful, and trustworthy, even when no one is watching.
- Farewell all clients with a “See you mañana!” upon departure to reinforce loyalty and connection
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and cleanliness standards (including food handling).
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and tastings to remain sharp and informed.
- Be proactive in identifying and solving problems before they affect the guest experience.
- Assist in training staff as needed.
- Perform side duties as assigned.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct at all times.
- Proven experience as a server in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant environment.
- Passionate about hospitality and guest service.
- Excellent communication skills with a confident and friendly demeanor.
- Team-oriented with a positive, humble, and professional attitude.
- Demonstrates integrity, attention-to-detail, and professionalism at all times.
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Must acquire all state and local required certifications for the role.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of server experience required.
- Experience with Toast POS system preferred.
