Duties
- Assist senior stylists with hair styling, including blowouts, trims, and special treatments like eyelash extensions and hair threading
- Prepare clients for services by performing consultations on hair types, desired looks, and product recommendations
- Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Manage appointment scheduling using salon software, ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk
- Support retail sales by upselling hair care products, makeup applications, and nail care items to enhance client satisfaction
- Help with store management tasks including inventory checks and retail math calculations to optimize product stock levels
- Mentor new team members on salon procedures, customer service excellence, and technical skills like the use of straight razors or applying hair extensions
Experience
- Previous experience in cosmetology or barbering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of salon software systems or similar platforms is a plus
- Familiarity with color theory, sanitation practices, and retail sales techniques will set you apart
- Strong communication skills to connect with clients and team members effectively
- Experience with retail math, upselling strategies, and store management practices will help you excel in this role
