Volunteer Behavioral Health is now seeking a PRN Classroom Coordinator in the Cleveland, Tennessee area.
The Classroom Coordinator position is within the Regional Intervention Program (RIP). Regional Intervention Program (RIP) is a parent-implemented program for children up to age 6 and their families who are experiencing challenging behaviors.
The Classroom Coordinator position is a 16 hour/week part-time position. Must be able to work 16 hours per week, including during all program hours. Program currently runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00 PM and 5:30-7:30 PM. Training requirements are established by contracts with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to include training activities both in Nashville and on-site in Cleveland.
In this position, you would primarily be responsible for training parents in the program on how to effectively run the RIP classroom, preparing the classrooms/lesson plans for each program night, and supervising classroom activities.
What You’ll Do
· A. Classroom Preparation:
1. Create and maintain weekly classroom lesson plans and activity centers.
2. Create and maintain children’s puzzle task boxes.
3. Provide training for parents/adults for classroom coverage.
· B. Classroom Duties:
1. Provide classroom supervision.
2. Organize and participate in regular classroom meetings for parents.
3. Conduct observations, collect data, and provide feedback.
4. Support parents in learning and modeling appropriate behavior.
· C. Program Activities:
1. Participate as an active member of the program staff team.
2. Train and supervise volunteers.
3. Assist in program tours.
4. Participate in special RIP presentations as appropriate.
What You’ll Bring
· High School Diploma/GED required. Must be eighteen (18) years old.
· Knowledge and experience working with young children and their families preferred.
· Previous training in the RIP model is preferred.
