Responsibilities
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Shift4 POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted and accommodated.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including daily specials, ingredients, and food safety procedures to answer guest questions confidently.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments via POS systems, and provide correct change or receipts.
- Support food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Assist with opening or closing duties as needed, including setting up tables or cleaning work areas to ensure a smooth operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and Shift4.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities.
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations to ensure guest safety at all times.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing.
- Experience with food industry terminology related to serving, food preparation, bussing, host/hostess duties, and kitchen operations is highly desirable.
