Position Title: Combustion Equipment Field Service Technician
Reports to: Aftermarket Manager; Operations Manager

Position Summary:
A Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning thermal oxidizers and other combustion systems. The role requires extensive travel and the ability to solve problems quickly in various settings, particularly for air heaters and all types of thermal oxidizers.
Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Independently troubleshoot and determine a root cause analysis for failed thermal oxidizer and industrial heating systems
- Commissioning & Start Up of newly installed systems, consisting of electrical/ mechanical setup, checkout/dryout, waste stream introduction, control loop tuning, and operator training.
- Routine maintenance of customer systems to include loop checks, tuning and troubleshooting of operational problems, equipment repair and replacement.
- Provides customers with system operations, maintenance, modification, and upgrade recommendations
- Additional:
- Support control panel checkouts and design as required
- Mechanical, instrument, and control panel check out of pipe skids at fabrication shops
- Provide post commissioning feedback to PCC Operations that enables continuous improvement of PCC’s execution and product offerings
- Provide post service feedback to PCC’s Aftermarket team that provide actionable leads for Spare Parts and Modification opportunities.
Skills/Qualifications
Technical:
- Complete understanding of the combustion, industrial heating, and thermal oxidizer processes to the extent that a root cause can be determined for failed systems
- Ability to read engineering drawings to include General Arrangements, P&IDs, Control Wiring Diagrams, and Field Wiring Diagrams
- Basic understanding of the use, programming and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC’s) and Distributive Control Systems (DCS)
- Experience with Combustion Systems (burners, air heaters, oxidizers, boilers, etc)
- Ability to independently use electronic measuring equipment such as multimeters, digital manometers, and emissions analyzers; and interpret the data being produced by these devices.
- General knowledge of safety requirements in an industrial environment

- Capable of serving as PCC’s on-site representative during delivery, staging, assembly, and mechanical checkout of the equipment prior to commissioning

- Work in and around chemical and other industrial plants near heavy machinery and high temperature thermal oxidizers and heaters
- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to meet the travel demands of the position with up to 3 weeks per month of domestic and international travel
- Must be able to work long hours in a hot environment; standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
- Travel:
- Applicant must have US passport and willingness to travel internationally
- This position requires travel to PCC customer sites for design reviews, equipment troubleshooting, and commissioning. Typical travel is approximately 80% - with peaks and lulls.
- Duration for a typical field service is 3-5 days (including travel) and between 7-21 days for newly the checkout, commissioning, and start up for newly installed systems depending on their complexity
