Motorcycle Mechanic – Full Time
Pay: $35–$43 per hour
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
License: Valid M1 motorcycle endorsement
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motorcycle Mechanic to join our team full time. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across multiple brands, and a passion for precision and performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a motorcycle repair technician.
- Certification: OEM/Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) certifications preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining two-stroke and four-stroke engines, as well as electrical systems.
- Brand Experience: Experience with BMW, Honda, and Yamaha strongly preferred.
- Tools: Must provide and maintain your own basic tools.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and safely maneuver motorcycles weighing 800+ lbs.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
- Computer Skills: Basic knowledge for diagnostics, service records, and parts ordering.
- License: Valid M1 motorcycle endorsement, at least 5 years of riding experience, and a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and complex repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues.
- Inspect motorcycles thoroughly and provide accurate service recommendations.
- Create detailed labor estimates and parts lists for each job.
- Clearly communicate findings and test results with the Service Manager and customers.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Conduct test rides to confirm quality and performance.
