Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures and parts that support various construction and manufacturing projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of materials and techniques, ensuring that every project meets quality standards.
Familiarity with machining, specifically molds and dies, is a major plus. Typical schedule is Monday through Saturday, 7 A.M to 6 P.M., 66 hours a week. This is NOT an apprentice role.
Duties
- Perform welding using various techniques, typically MIG and Stick (SMAW).
- Fabricate metal components utilizing sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and other shop tools
- Measure materials accurately using measuring instruments and shop math to ensure precise cuts and assemblies
- Operate power tools, hand tools, rigging equipment, forklifts, machining tools, and gas metal arc welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain strict adherence to general safety standards while working on construction sites or within fabrication shops to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings related to metal fabrication and welding projects
- Hands-on experience with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and shop math for precise fabrication work
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment such as press brakes, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, schematics interpretation, and rigging operations
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, forklifts, machining equipment safely in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for mechanical fabrication projects
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a commitment to safety protocol adherence
