Job Overview
To assist the Director of Finance in the management, direction and control of the County’s Finance Department, to include but not limited to, managing specific accounting functions, financial analysts’ activities, fixed asset and capital improvement accounting, cash and investment management and financial reporting.
Must have advanced computer skills, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and major financial software applications, ability to communicate with all levels of employees, strong diplomacy, oral and written communication skills, and proven organizational and time management skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree or Associates Degree in Accounting plus five (5) years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education which will result in the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the job. Governmental Accounting experience, Certified Government Finance Officer and/or Certified Public Finance Officer, considered a plus.

Duties
- Assist the Finance Director in developing and executing comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and cost control measures.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GASB Standards, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage treasury functions such as cash flow analysis, investment management, and risk assessment to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
- Conduct detailed risk analysis to identify potential financial vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support compliance management by ensuring adherence to regulatory reporting standards, revenue recognition standards, and other relevant policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams on project cost analysis, profit & loss assessments, and strategic business development initiatives.
- Provide leadership to finance staff through mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
