Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist in menu planning and food preparation for daily service and special catering events
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety protocols
- Support meal preparation for various service types, including dine-in, takeout, and catering orders
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as a restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards in production
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food quality
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques, food handling, and kitchen equipment operation
