Position Summary
As the Field Crew Lead, you'll be responsible for arriving at job sites ahead of our lining specialists to safely prepare each project for installation. You'll lead a 1-2 person crew, coordinate equipment, complete excavations, install trench safety systems, and ensure every site is ready for the lining team to work efficiently. You will also work with the city through the inspection process before closing up the job site and removing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small field crew
- Perform machine and hand excavation
- Install trench shoring and follow all excavation safety requirements
- Perform sewer and drainage repairs and installations
- Operate hydro-jetting equipment
- Move trailers, equipment, and materials between job sites
- Read and execute work orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Communicate progress with office staff and project managers
- Assist with additional underground utility work as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of sewer, drainage, underground utility, or excavation experience
- Previous crew leadership experience preferred
- Experience operating mini excavators and construction equipment
- Knowledge of trench safety and shoring systems
- Hydro-jetting experience preferred
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation to our Redmond shop
