This position provides exposure to several important areas of our business and is designed to develop someone who can take on greater responsibility and advance within the organization.
What You’ll Do
Operations
- Support drivers and monitor freight movement throughout the weekend (Friday-Monday - 4 day, 10 hour shifts).
- Communicate load information, schedules, customer requirements, and operational updates.
- Identify potential service failures and take proactive steps to prevent or minimize them.
- Assist with load coverage, driver availability, truck planning, and equipment utilization.
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, vendors, and other departments to resolve issues.
- Document important events and provide clear handoffs to weekday teams.
- Escalate significant issues to the appropriate leader when necessary.
Safety
- Assist drivers with accidents, incidents, roadside inspections, weather concerns, and other safety-related situations.
- Gather and document accurate information following accidents or incidents.
- Help drivers make safe and compliant decisions involving road conditions, hours of service, and equipment concerns.
- Coordinate with Safety leadership, law enforcement, towing companies, repair facilities, and other parties as needed.
- Recognize serious or high-risk situations and escalate them appropriately.

- Coordinate roadside service, towing, repairs, and communication with maintenance vendors.
- Track repair progress and communicate updates affecting drivers or customer service.
- Help ensure equipment with a potential safety issue is properly evaluated before returning to operation.
- Provide clear documentation and follow-up information to the Maintenance team.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound judgment and the confidence to make reasonable decisions.
- A high level of personal responsibility and follow-through.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
- The ability to remain calm and organized when situations become urgent.
- Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- The ability to learn new systems, processes, and industry concepts quickly.
- Dependability and consistent availability for the assigned weekend schedule.
