We are looking for a Part-Time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who is passionate about helping patients improve their mental health through thoughtful evaluations, evidence-based treatment, and collaborative care.
Position Overview
The PMHNP will provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and ongoing mental health care for patients in an outpatient setting. This position offers flexibility with a combination of in-person and telehealth appointments.
The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term relationships with patients, takes a holistic approach to mental health, and works well in a collaborative environment.
Spanish-speaking providers are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Complete psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions within scope of practice
- Provide medication management and monitor patient response to treatment
- Create individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications appropriately
- Evaluate medication effectiveness, side effects, and make adjustments when needed
- Provide follow-up visits and ongoing patient support
- Treat conditions including:
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression
- ADHD
- PTSD/trauma-related conditions
- OCD
- Mood disorders
- Other common psychiatric conditions
- Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Provide patient education and support regarding treatment options
- Review labs, medical history, and coordinate care as needed
- Complete timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Participate in improving patient care processes and workflows
Qualifications
- Active Illinois PMHNP license
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active DEA license
- Ability to prescribe medications in Illinois
- Experience with psychiatric evaluations and medication management
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Comfortable providing care independently while collaborating with a team
- Experience with EHR systems and telehealth platforms preferred

Pay is $80 an hour for new patient but for follow up appointments it's $40 an hour
