Position Overview
We are seeking an Implementation Project Manager to run our implementation process end to end and keep customers informed and on track from kickoff through go-live. Our delivery team works closely across all projects to ensure timely completion of tasks. You will own the JIRA board that drives them. You will own customer communication and scheduling, coordinate internal resources, and adjust plans as requirements and priorities evolve during an implementation. Our delivery process is still taking shape, so you will have real influence over how we plan, sequence, and track work. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and a strong communicator, comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and re-planning when a project shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the implementation process end to end — kickoff, configuration, data migration, training, go-live, and handoff to support.
- Work with customers to define and document requirements and scope up front, then refine them as the implementation progresses.
- Build and maintain project plans, schedules, and milestones in accordance with our standard implementation methodology, re-forecasting when scope or resourcing changes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Own and maintain the JIRA board across active implementations — grooming the backlog, sizing and sequencing work intom sprints, and keeping ticket status accurate enough to report from.
- Support resource scheduling and understand resource utilization to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Facilitate the weekly Scrum cadence — sprint planning, daily standups, sprint review, and retrospective — alongside customer kickoff calls, status updates, and post-implementation reviews.
- Assist in troubleshooting customer system issues and coordinating with internal teams for resolution.
- Track project progress, mitigate project risks, and help ensure on-time delivery.
- Balance in-sprint commitments against mid-sprint customer escalations, and communicate trade-offs clearly to both the delivery team and the customer.
- Document and report on project updates, risks, and key performance metrics.
- Use JIRA to manage customer projects and report progress to internal stakeholders — and help mature how we plan and track delivery, including sprint-based planning, backlog grooming, and consistent board hygiene.
- Support end users by providing training resources and guidance as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in project management (PMP preferred) or software implementation, including hands-on experience with an agile delivery process.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA (our primary project management system); familiarity with tools such as Smartsheet, Confluence, SharePoint, or Teams is a plus.
- Experience running agile delivery in practice — sprint planning, backlog grooming, and board hygiene in JIRA; Scrum Master certification (CSM/PSM) is a plus.
- Experience delivering in an agile or Scrum environment — sprint planning, backlog grooming, and disciplined JIRA board hygiene; Scrum Master certification (CSM/PSM) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Sage, or other business accounting systems is a plus.
- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to work more efficiently — drafting customer communications and status updates, summarizing requirements and meeting notes, and building project documentation.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
