The Middle School Bible and History Teacher has the major responsibility of guiding the educational process for the students assigned to him/her to allow students to grow spiritually, morally, academically, emotionally, and physically.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate major from a recognized college or university
- Completed student teaching or similar educational field experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a current teaching certificate from a Christian school association and/or State.
- Completed at least 2 years of teaching experience

- Profess a saving faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and recognize the authority of scripture as a guide for faith and living
- Model Christian character in speech and actions
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem solving skills
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Display superior planning, organization, and time management skills
Responsibilities
- Help to foster a love of learning within students; plan and direct a program of instruction for the student in accordance with the policies and philosophy of MGCS
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional lessons in core subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies, while fostering a love of learning in students
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and respect
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including providing intervention and enrichment opportunities
- Assess student progress regularly using both formal and informal methods, and use data to guide instruction and support student growth
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records of student attendance, academic progress, performance, and behavior
- Establish and maintain clear classroom management procedures and expectations
- Support students’ social and emotional development
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, enrichment teachers, and administration
- Incorporate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning
- Participate in professional development and school activities
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk approximately 75% of the workday
- Speak and hear clearly
- Operate a computer, hand-held learning devices or other technology
- Reach, bend, stoop, twist, and lift/move up to 30 pounds.
