Position Summary:
The Florida Atlantic University Foundation is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to support financial operations, gift accounting, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting activities in Boca Raton, FL.
The Accounting Coordinator is expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgment.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Perform gift compliance review, including approving transactions, accounting journals, budgets, as well as requested research for assigned gifts.
Reconcile daily revenue/contribution data integration from CRM donor database (Raiser’s Edge) to Accounting System (Workday) by appropriate gift and revenue codes.
Complete regular bank reconciliations for cash accounts.
Complete and/or manage sales, property tax returns and state registrations as assigned.
Maintain general ledger, and monthly journal entries generated within the Foundation’s Office and from various departments within the organization.
Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and performing necessary reviews and analyses.
Represent the department and the University in appropriate departmental, SUS, or State Committees.
Serve as liaison with other departments across the University, as necessary.
Support internal control procedures on accounting activities for the department/unit or Foundation.
Perform special projects and other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. For some positions assigned to this class special qualifications may be added to the minimum, such as possession of a State of Florida CPA certificate.

$70,000 Annually.
