We are looking for an experienced Custom Cabinet Builder who is detail-oriented, dependable, and takes pride in building premium custom cabinetry.
Job Summary
The Custom Cabinet Builder is responsible for building custom cabinets and millwork from shop drawings using a variety of woodworking tools and equipment. The ideal candidate has experience with face-frame and frameless cabinetry, can work independently, and maintains high quality standards while meeting production deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Build custom kitchen, bathroom, closet, office, entertainment, and commercial cabinetry.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and specifications.
- Assemble cabinet boxes, drawers, face frames, and doors.
- Install drawer slides, hinges, pull-outs, and cabinet accessories.
- Verify dimensions and ensure all components meet company quality standards.
- Operate woodworking equipment safely, including table saws, panel saws, edge banders, routers, drills, sanders, and other shop equipment.
- Work with plywood, hardwood, melamine, MDF, laminates, and veneers.
- Assist with fitting, sanding, and preparing cabinets for finishing or installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate with the production manager regarding project progress and any issues.
- Help load completed cabinetry when needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of custom cabinet building experience preferred.
- Ability to read shop drawings and work accurately from specifications.
- Experience with cabinet hardware installation and drawer construction.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques and cabinet construction.
- Ability to safely operate woodworking machinery and power tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mozaik or other cabinet manufacturing software.
- Experience with CNC-produced cabinet parts.
- Experience building high-end custom cabinetry.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
