Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and overall performance of our facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring that all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and team leadership. Success in this role requires excellent organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to lead maintenance operations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of residential properties.
- Ensure properties are maintained in excellent condition through routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Manage tenant relations by responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Coordinate leasing activities, including property showings, lease renewals, move-ins, and move-outs.
- Supervise maintenance personnel, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely completion of repairs and projects.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and compliance issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of leases, inspections, maintenance requests, vendor contracts, and financial reports.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to preserve property assets.
- Monitor occupancy levels and assist with marketing strategies to attract and retain tenants.
- Prepare monthly reports on occupancy, maintenance activities, financial performance, and property operations.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, vendors, contractors, and internal departments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in property management, customer service, leasing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required) with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new processes, software, and responsibilities.
- Ability to walk the property frequently, climb stairs, and perform routine property inspections.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft and property management software, are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a positive, professional attitude.
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing excellent service to residents.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
