General MEP Superintendent – Data Centers
We are currently partnered with one of the Midwest’s most respected commercial builders in its search for a General MEP Superintendent to support a rapidly expanding portfolio of hyperscale data center projects.
This is an opportunity to join a nationally ranked contractor with nearly a century of construction experience, an established mission-critical division, and a significant pipeline of recently awarded work (14+ projects). The company has built long-standing relationships with major repeat clients by delivering technically complex projects while maintaining a collaborative, people-first culture.
The company is continuing to build its mission-critical leadership team, creating genuine opportunities to advance into senior operational and executive-level positions as the division grows. Performance and promotion opportunities are formally reviewed every six months, giving high performers a clear path forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all onsite MEP construction activities across large-scale data center projects
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and specialty contractors
- Develop and maintain master schedules, short-interval plans, manpower projections, and major system milestones
- Drive equipment procurement, installation, startup, testing, energization, and commissioning activities
- Identify and resolve design conflicts, coordination issues, and field constraints before they affect the schedule
- Lead coordination between the field team, project management, design partners, trade contractors, and commissioning agents
- Maintain accountability for safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and schedule performance
- Oversee QA/QC programs, system inspections, punch-list completion, and turnover documentation
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field engineers
- Maintain strong communication with clients and ensure expectations are met throughout the project
- Create a collaborative field environment built around accountability, urgency, and teamwork
Ideal Background
- 10+ years of commercial construction field leadership experience
- Previous experience as a General Superintendent, MEP Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or comparable field leader
- Data center, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similarly technical project experience
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, controls, energization, startup, and commissioning
- Proven experience managing multiple MEP trades on large, fast-paced projects
- Ability to lead other Superintendents and coordinate complex field teams
- Strong scheduling, communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered
- Willingness to travel between data center projects throughout the Midwest

Pay: $150,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
