Job Description
Strategic ACI is seeking a Mid-level Geographic Information System (GIS) and Hardware Engineer to support fielding, testing, and operation of the Digital Buoy Test Bed under development by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Army Geospatial Center (AGC) and the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL).
Responsibilities:
Support integration of the prototype Digital Buoy system into Inland Electronic Navigational Charts (IENC) architecture.
Support the development and testing of Digital Buoy hardware modules at the GRL facility as well as at local and regional maritime environments.
Support installation of the Digital Buoy prototypes on USACE selected buoys and surrogates.
Support comprehensive testing of the Digital Buoy system at the Army Geospatial Enterprise (AGE) Node and the IENC testbed.
Develop visualization and analytical tools to study the Digital Buoy capabilities and demonstrate concepts to USACE and IENC stakeholders.
Qualifications:Required:
Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's degree or higher in a Geographic Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or related degree program, or related equivalent additional experience of 4 years with no degree.
6+ years working in government or industry supporting GIS, geospatial data production, and geospatial data analysis.
Experience with commercial and open-source GIS software packages.
Experience with generating geospatial foundation data (2D and 3D), visualizations, animations, and analytics.
Desired:
Top Secret security clearance.
Master's Degree in a Geographic Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or related degree program.
Experience with Docker, GitHub/GitLab (or equivalent software packages), Java, XML, JSON, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and AWS and C2S.
Experience with scripting with ESRI and open-source GIS packages.
Basic knowledge of radio frequency transmission and attenuation theory.
Previous AGC or ERDC work experience.
Previous maritime hardware experience.
