Summary
We are seeking an Executive Director to join our team. This person will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, business strategy, and financial management of the practice. Reporting to practice leadership, this role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and high-quality patient care. The Executive Director will work closely with department managers, physicians, and administrative teams to develop and implement best practices that support organizational growth and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership & Management:
- Serves as the supervisor of department managers, ensuring accountability for departmental operations, workflow efficiency, and team performance.
- Develops, implements, and enforces policies, procedures, and workflows to optimize patient flow, staffing levels, and operational efficiency across all departments.
- Works closely with physicians to ensure alignment of operational strategies with clinical and financial objectives.
- Oversees facility management, vendor contracts, purchasing, and resource allocation to maintain a safe, functional, and cost-effective environment for patients and staff.
- Develops and maintains a system for continuous process improvement, identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and patient experience.
- Credentialing providers with affiliated hospitals.
2. Financial & Business Strategy:
- Oversees financial management, including budgeting, revenue cycle oversight, expense control, and financial reporting and analysis.
- Works closely with the Billing Office to improve revenue cycle efficiency, monitor accounts receivable, and hold the practice’s EMR vendor accountable for their performance.
- Assists in strategic planning efforts, developing long- and short-term business plans to support the growth and financial stability of the practice.
3. Human Resources & Staff Development:
- Provides assistance in talent acquisition, training, and performance management.
- Oversees employee relations, workplace policies, and HR compliance.
- Develops and implements professional development initiatives for staff, including leadership training, career growth opportunities, and succession planning.
- Manages the development, evaluation, and administration of comprehensive and competitive employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness initiatives to attract and retain talent.
- Regularly assesses industry benchmarks to ensure the organization’s compensation and benefits remain competitive and aligned with financial sustainability.
4. Technology & Systems Management:
- Works in close coordination with the IT Manager to oversee infrastructure, including EMR systems, cybersecurity measures, and workflow automation tools to optimize efficiency and data security.
- Evaluates and implements new technologies that improve operational performance, patient engagement, and overall practice efficiency.
5. Patient & Community Relations:
- Oversees marketing, public relations, and patient engagement strategies to enhance the practice’s reputation and community presence.
- Works with physicians and leadership to develop patient experience initiatives, improving satisfaction and retention.
- Represents the organization in relationships with healthcare networks, third-party payers, vendors, and professional associations.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Strong leadership and management abilities with experience in a healthcare operations setting.
- Financial acumen with the ability to oversee budgeting, revenue cycle management, and cost control.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while implementing process improvements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with physicians, staff, vendors, and external vendors.
- Proficiency in healthcare technology (MS Office and Excel, EMR systems, practice management software, data analytics).
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
