Milken Community School seeks a highly collaborative, relationship-driven, and analytically minded Associate Director of Admission to serve as a key member of the Office of Admission and Enrollment Management for grades 6–12. This role supports the school’s enrollment and retention goals through student recruitment, family engagement, enrollment planning, and data-informed strategy.
The Associate Director of Admission serves as an important member of the Admissions team, playing a vital role in cultivating meaningful relationships with prospective families throughout the admissions process. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing relationship-building with strategic thinking, operational coordination, and analytical work in a fast-paced and mission-driven school environment. This position reports to the Director of Admission and Enrollment Management.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective families throughout the admissions process.
- Conduct student and parent interviews and lead individual and group campus tours.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective families, providing warm, responsive, and personalized communication throughout the admissions cycle.
- Proactively follow up with inquiries and applicants to build relationships, guide families through the admission process, and support enrollment conversion efforts.
- Represent Milken Community School at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events and activities.
- Support strategic outreach and recruitment efforts designed to strengthen enrollment and community engagement.
- Participate in moves management discussions and support personalized stewardship efforts that guide families through the enrollment process.
- Build authentic relationships with prospective families and help identify opportunities for meaningful engagement throughout the admission process.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create thoughtful and individualized experiences that reflect Milken’s values and commitment to “unreasonable hospitality.”
- Support initiatives that strengthen enrollment, yield, and community engagement.
Data Reporting and Analysis
- Lead the office’s efforts in data collection, reporting and analysis to better inform progress and strategy.
- Support the office’s collaborative and data-informed approach to recruitment, retention, and enrollment strategy.
- Contribute to the refinement and organization of admission and enrollment tracking systems and reporting tools.
- Assist with tracking and organizing recruitment, enrollment, retention, funnel progression, and event participation data to support moves management conversations and recruitment planning efforts.
- Prepare data reports, summaries, spreadsheets, dashboards, and historical comparisons related to inquiries, applications, yield, enrollment, and retention trends that support operational efficiency and reduce manual duplication.
- Identify trends, patterns, and areas of opportunity that support strategic recruitment and retention efforts.
Application Review & Enrollment Process
- Collaborate with the admissions team to coordinate application review and decision-making processes.
- Serve as a member of the Admission Decision Committee and participate in the evaluation and review of applicants to support thoughtful and informed admission decision-making.
- Support strategies that strengthen enrollment conversion and family engagement throughout the admissions process.
- Support the enrollment and onboarding process for newly enrolled students and families.
Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues across External Relations, Development, Alumni Relations, and the Milken Parent Association as needed.
- Partner with faculty and staff, instructional leaders, coaches, and administrative colleagues to support a highly personalized and welcoming admissions experience for prospective and newly enrolled families.
- Serve as a visible ambassador and collaborative member of the Milken community.
Qualifications Required- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4–6 years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, education, customer engagement, or related fields, preferably in an independent school environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with students, families, and community partners.
- Highly personable, relatable, and genuine, with the ability to connect authentically with diverse families.
- Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and enrollment data.
- Ability to identify patterns, organize information, and contribute to data-informed decision-making and operational efficiency efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment at all times.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, parents, and community partners.
- Experience with Blackbaud or other admissions/enrollment management systems.
- Experience tracking and analyzing admission and enrollment data to support recruitment and retention strategies.
- Experience with independent school admissions for grades 6-12.
Start: M - F by 8 AM
End: M -Th 4 PM, F 3:00 PM

Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000
