Ophthalmic Imaging Technician (Temporary – Approximately 4 Month Assignment)
Eye Care Physicians & Surgeons is a fast-paced, full-service eye care specialty practice with a focused, team-based "Yes Clinic" culture dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and community.
We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Imaging Technician to join our team for a temporary assignment of approximately four months (40 hours/week, Monday–Friday). This position offers the opportunity to transition into another role within our organization after the assignment concludes, depending on organizational needs, qualifications, performance, and mutual interest.
As an Ophthalmic Imaging Technician, you will work closely with our Medical Services team to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and testing in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining professionalism and excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including:
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Pentacam Imaging
- Corneal Topography
- Fundus Photography
- Tonopen Intraocular Pressure Testing
- Patient Dilation
- Argos and LenStar duties
Additional responsibilities include:
- Capture accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Ensure testing is completed efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, physicians, and team members.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EHR).
- Support a high-volume clinic while prioritizing accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional patient service.
- Work closely with refractive coordinator and ASCAN to ensure all patients and doctor's needs are met.
Qualifications
- One or more years of ophthalmology experience preferred; candidates with other relevant medical experience or education will also be considered.
- Proficiency with EPM/EHR systems (NextGen or similar platforms highly desirable).
- Ability to manage a high patient volume with accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and presentation at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to perform all physical and cognitive duties associated with the role.
