We are currently seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services within Cecil County Public Schools. This position involves working with students from birth through age 21 across multiple educational settings. Candidates must be willing to travel between assigned schools as needed.
Potential School Placements
Assignments may be at any of the following locations:
- Gilpin Manor Elementary School
- Bainbridge Elementary School
- Bay View Elementary School
- High Roads/Providence School
- Bohemia Manor Middle/High School
Please note: School placement is based on district needs. Applicants must be willing to work at any of the listed locations and should not apply if they are only willing to work at one school.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech-language screenings, assessments, and evaluations.
- Complete written evaluation reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Develop and implement IEP/IFSP goals in collaboration with school teams.
- Participate in IEP/IFSP meetings and provide ongoing progress monitoring and documentation.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students ages birth through 21.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and community agencies to support student success.
- Submit Medical Assistance logs to the Special Education Office by the 10th of each month.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in accordance with Maryland state regulations.
- Travel between assigned school locations as needed (travel time is billable).
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, or eligibility as required.
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient computer skills and experience completing electronic documentation.
Position Details
- In-person position only (no virtual option).
- Up to 35 hours per week during the 180-day school calendar.
- Typical workday is approximately 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
- Opportunity for additional year-round work with the Infants & Toddlers Program may be available.
