Cashier – Estate Sales (Part-Time / Weekend Work)

Location: Various locations Gainesville to Ocala (travel to estate sale sites required)
Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Cashier to join our team during estate sales. Estate sales are fast-paced events with high customer traffic, and this role is essential in ensuring smooth checkouts, accurate transactions, and a positive customer experience.
The ideal candidate is comfortable handling cash, working efficiently under pressure, and interacting with large volumes of customers in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate the checkout station during estate sales
- Process cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately
- Maintain an organized and efficient checkout area
- Bag and wrap purchased items when needed
- Answer basic customer questions about pricing or sale procedures
- Help maintain order and flow in the checkout line during busy periods
- Communicate with team members about pricing questions or large purchases
- Assist with basic setup and breakdown of the cashier station
Qualifications
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with money handling
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- Reliable transportation (sales are held at different homes)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Weekend availability required
Preferred Skills
- Experience working estate sales, retail, or flea markets
- Experience using mobile POS systems or card readers
- Ability to stay calm and organized during busy checkout periods
Schedule
- Most sales take place Thursday–Sunday
- Typical shift: 5-7 Hours
- Hours vary depending on sale schedule
