Job Summary
Lewis Electric & Plumbing is seeking a skilled, dependable, and experienced Lead Plumber to join our growing team. The Lead Plumber will oversee residential and commercial plumbing projects from start to finish, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable plumbing codes. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading a crew, mentoring apprentices, troubleshooting complex plumbing systems, and maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance on residential and commercial projects.
· Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and plumbing schematics to ensure accurate installations.
· Install, repair, and replace water supply lines, drain systems, sewer lines, gas piping, fixtures, water heaters, and other plumbing components.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues while providing effective and long-lasting solutions.
· Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national plumbing codes and safety regulations.
· Coordinate daily job activities with project managers, office staff, and customers.
· Train, mentor, and supervise apprentice and helper plumbers.
· Maintain accurate records of materials used, labor hours, and completed work.
· Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment needed for assigned projects.
· Operate hand tools, power tools, drain cleaning equipment, pipe threading equipment, and diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
· Perform testing and inspections of completed plumbing systems.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
· Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with homeowners, contractors, and property managers.
· Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency plumbing service as needed.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
· Valid Plumbing License (if required by state or local regulations).
· Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
· Strong ability to read blueprints and plumbing schematics.
· Experience installing water heaters, fixtures, gas piping, drain systems, water supply systems, and sewer piping.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Familiarity with plumbing codes and OSHA safety standards.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to lift 75 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with plumbing remodels and new construction.
· Experience operating excavating equipment is a plus.
· Basic knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems is beneficial.
· Soldering, brazing, and pipe threading experience.
· Backflow certification is a plus.

Schedule:
· Monday–Friday 8:00 to 4:30
· Overtime available
· On-call rotation

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
