Job Overview
Tailgate Sports Bar is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can help manage staff, maintain excellent customer service, oversee daily operations, and ensure a positive guest experience.
This position requires someone who is organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while assisting with scheduling, staffing, training, and operational execution.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with daily restaurant operations
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees
- Help create and manage employee schedules
- Monitor staff performance and ensure company standards are met
- Assist with inventory management and ordering
- Address guest concerns and resolve customer service issues
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and liquor regulations
- Support payroll and timekeeping processes
- Help oversee opening and closing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the facility
- Assist with special events, promotions, and marketing initiatives
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding operational needs
Qualifications
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment is strongly preferred
- Experience leading teams and managing staff schedules preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations is a plus
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary
