Join us as a Fitness Equipment Service Technician on a contract basis, where your expertise will keep gym equipment in top condition and ensure a seamless workout experience for users. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of fitness equipment, from treadmills to strength machines. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diverse fitness equipment types to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using appropriate tools, including ohmmeters for electrical testing.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, belts, sensors, circuit boards, and wiring to restore equipment functionality.
- Document all service activities accurately in logs and reports, noting issues identified and repairs completed.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding service findings, recommended repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all service procedures to protect yourself and clients.
- Maintain a well-organized inventory of parts and tools necessary for efficient service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in repairing and maintaining commercial or residential fitness equipment is highly preferred.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics and use testing devices like ohmmeters effectively.
- Familiarity with electronic components, motors, sensors, and control systems used in fitness machines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively across multiple service calls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate.
- Prior experience working with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
