Join us as a Fitness Equipment Service Technician on a contract basis, where your expertise will keep gym equipment in top condition and ensure a seamless workout experience for users. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of fitness equipment, from treadmills to strength machines. Your technical skills and attention to detail will directly contribute to the safety, functionality, and longevity of our clients’ fitness assets. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diverse fitness equipment types to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using appropriate tools, including ohmmeters for electrical testing.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, belts, sensors, circuit boards, and wiring to restore equipment functionality.
- Document all service activities accurately in logs and reports, noting issues identified and repairs completed.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding service findings, recommended repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all service procedures to protect yourself and clients.
- Maintain a well-organized inventory of parts and tools necessary for efficient service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in repairing and maintaining commercial or residential fitness equipment is highly preferred.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics and use testing devices like ohmmeters effectively.
- Familiarity with electronic components, motors, sensors, and control systems used in fitness machines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively across multiple service calls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate.
- Prior experience working with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
