Position Overview
Compensation is up to $26.50 for long-term assignments with a newly established and expanding company. Candidates must possess basic tools of the trade.
Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of four years of commercial or naval experience as a First-Class Machinist.

- Familiarity with fasteners: Understanding of various fasteners used in shipbuilding.
- Comprehension of complex drawings: Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
- Use of lapping and blue checking tools: Proficiency in utilizing these tools for precision work.
- Working knowledge of shipbuilding terms: Familiarity with relevant terminology and nomenclature.
- Lathe operation: Capability to operate a lathe effectively.
- Valve overhaul: Experience in the maintenance and repair of valves.
- Installation of machinery: Proficient in installing main engine and propulsion plant machinery and equipment.
- System cleanliness grade knowledge: Understanding of cleanliness standards for systems.
- Hydrostatic testing: Experience in conducting hydrostatic tests.
- Installation of anchor windlass: Proficient in the installation process.
- Installation of mast and antenna: Capability to install these components effectively.
- Lube oil flushing: Knowledge of lube oil flushing procedures.
- Use of precision instruments: Proficiency in using rulers and micrometers.
- Installation of ballast tanks: Experience in the installation process.
- Drilling and tapping: Proficient in drilling and tapping operations.
- Optical alignment: Capability to perform optical alignment tasks.
- Hydrostatic testing of systems: Experience in testing various systems.
- Boiler tube replacement: Proficient in installing boiler tube replacements.
- Installation of sea valves: Experience in the installation process.
- Installation of valve and pump packing: Knowledge of packing installation procedures.
- Pump and motor installation and alignment: Proficient in installation and alignment tasks.
- Operation of centrifugal pump: Capability to operate centrifugal pumps.
- Fit and blue check liners: Experience in fitting and checking liners.
- Installation of condenser and heat exchanger tubes: Proficient in the installation process.
- Flange makeup: Knowledge of flange makeup procedures.
- Installation of winch: Experience in the installation process.
- Installation of steam valves: Proficient in the installation process.
- Shafting and bearing work: Experience in related tasks.
- Distilling plant test: Knowledge of conducting tests in distilling plants.
- Installation of hydraulic components: Proficient in the installation process.
- Installation of low/high pressure air compressor: Experience in the installation process.
- Understanding of basic ship systems: Knowledge of fundamental ship systems.
