PVB Fabrications, Inc. (PVB), a direct-hire, multi-disciplined industrial construction and metal fabrication company, is seeking a Quality Inspector 1 to support our Quality Control team.
About the Role
As a Quality Inspector 1 at PVB Fabrications, you will play a key role in ensuring our fabricated products meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality expectations. This position works closely with production teams to inspect materials and finished products, identify quality concerns, and support continuous improvement throughout the fabrication process.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in welding and fabrication processes, and passionate about maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role offers the opportunity to apply technical expertise in a hands-on manufacturing environment while contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality products for our customers.
Position Summary
Responsible for inspecting products and materials during manufacturing to verify compliance with contract documents, job specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. The Quality Inspector 1 supports production by identifying nonconformances, documenting inspection results, and partnering with the team to ensure quality requirements are consistently achieved.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review contract documents, shop drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards to verify product compliance.

Perform inspections of fabricated products using weld inspection tools, gauges, and measurement equipment.

Verify welding operations are performed within approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to production leadership and Quality Management.

Accept or reject completed products based on established inspection criteria.

Maintain accurate daily inspection reports and quality records.

Support welder performance qualification testing and certification activities.

Apply industry standards including ASME, AWS D1.1, API 1104, API 650, and other applicable codes.

Collaborate with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 4 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.

Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) certification required.

Trade school or technical college education preferred.

Strong understanding of fabrication processes and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)/Non-Destructive Examination (NDE).

Ability to interpret shop drawings and identify fabrication issues.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with production teams.
Physical & Work Requirements

Light/Medium physical demand position requiring occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 20 lbs.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to typical shop conditions, including noise, equipment, and industrial materials.

Must follow all safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.

Full-time schedule, typically Monday–Friday, 8–10 hours per day. Overtime may be required based on project demands.
