American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring 2 years of PCU experience and float coverage across multiple hospital locations.
-
PCU/IMU Float position covering general medicine, surgical, neuro, onc, cardiac, and ortho patient populations
-
RN will float across four hospital locations during the contract as well as to EDIP (emergency department inpatient overflow)
-
Patient ratios include IMU 1:3, Tele 1:4, and MS 1:5
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
-
4-week schedules provided two weeks in advance with no blocked or self-scheduling
-
RN will receive a call approximately 2 hours before each shift confirming facility assignment
-
Must be willing to float to all PCU units and down to Med-Surg based on census
-
May be primarily reassigned to a new cardiology/neuro unit at the East Campus location if it becomes active during the contract

Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management

Required to work 2 of the following 3 holiday periods: Christmas Eve/Day, Thanksgiving Day/day after, and New Year's Eve/Day

Active California RN license required at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required

Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
-
Minimum 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within the past 2 years for specialized units

Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
-
Experience with IV starts, telemetry, phlebotomy, and A-line required
-
EPIC charting experience preferred
-
Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts)

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates previously employed by the facility must disclose this at the time of consideration and must be gone at least 1 year to return as a traveler

No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
