JOB SUMMARY:
The Canyon Creek Services (CCS) Outreach & Prevention Coordinator holds primary responsibility for all of the agency's primary prevention programming and initiatives. This position reports directly to the Community Development Director. This position is the lead for Garfield County in community development assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
- Strategically design and develop the priorities of the Prevention Division
- Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Community Development & Engagement Department
- Research and implement prevention strategies, as well as document needs or resources the organization will need to accomplish each strategy
- Responsible for awareness month activities, planning, and execution. Agency contact for awareness month communications. (TDVAM, SAAM, DVAM, HTAM, etc.)
- Responsible for coordinating the No More campaign each year at the agency
- Responsible for creating social media, blog, website, and communications content related to areas of responsibility
- Agencies primary social media contact to schedule and create content in coordination with other members of the CDE department
- Operates as the lead contact for the Iron County School District, and coordinates with the Community Development Director on the MOU
- Responsible for school-based education programs ‘Dating Matters’ & “Healthy Relationships”
- Staff tabling and information events as needed/as assigned
- Serve on community coalitions and committees as designated by the Community Development Director
- Conduct assessment and evaluation of community needs and areas to target for prevention strategies
- Attends or presents at community and civic meetings, events, or groups as assigned by the Community Development Director
- Work on Southern Utah University programming and events
- Responsible for building and managing internships and volunteers to assist in carrying out the responsibilities associated with their areas of responsibility
- Ensure that plans, goals, and objectives are pursued and achieved in all primary prevention efforts and initiatives.
- Responsible for prevention materials and displays for the organization
- Train and certify for all CCS presentations and community education trainings housed in the Community Development and Engagement Department
- Oversee and manage grant-funded prevention educational programs and ensure compliance with grant requirements in coordination with the Community Development Director
- Gather statistics and enter them into the organization’s database. Report data as required for applicable grants. Analyze data to inform strategic direction and planning.
- Participate in meetings and collaborations with grant funders and analysts related to prevention funding
- Coordinate with groups, partners, and other organizations within the service area and the state to carry out prevention initiatives.
- Tracks legislative processes and policy issues that directly affect the work of the organization
- Participate or designate participation for UDVC and UCASA public policy workgroups and prepare updates for members of leadership
- Participates in community education through events, presentations, public speaking opportunities, etc.
- Assist with the annual gala as an event managed by the Community Development and Engagement Department
- Other duties as assigned or necessary.

A candidate must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training will be given consideration.
- Professional experience in a nonprofit environment or related work field preferred

- Excellence in interpersonal communications and developing and maintaining relationships
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent skills in public speaking and presentation delivery
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends if needed
