Overnight Residential Case Aide
Position Title: Overnight Residential Case Aide (2)
Department: Family Shelter
Reports To: Shelter Supervisor
Status: Full-Time / Part-Time / Per Diem
Typical Schedule: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Position Summary
The Overnight Residential Case Aide is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and stability of the Family Promise Family Shelter during overnight hours. This position provides supervision while residents sleep, responds to emergencies, completes documentation, prepares the shelter for the morning shift, and ensures a calm and secure environment.
This position requires independent decision-making, strong observational skills, and the ability to respond appropriately to emergencies.
Essential Duties
Resident Safety
- Conduct hourly building rounds.
- Complete room checks while respecting resident privacy.
- Monitor security cameras.
- Ensure all exterior doors remain secured.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Contact emergency services when necessary.
- Notify the on-call supervisor of urgent concerns.
- Enforce shelter rules consistently.
Shelter Operations
- Maintain a quiet environment.
- Prepare coffee and common areas for morning.
- Clean and sanitize common areas.
- Restock bathrooms and supply closets.
- Complete laundry.
- Organize donations.
- Prepare intake packets.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness.
Documentation
- Complete overnight logs.
- Document all incidents.
- Record building rounds.
- Complete maintenance reports.
- Update communication log for morning staff.
Resident Assistance
- Respond to resident requests.
- Assist families experiencing crisis overnight.
- Handle emergency intake calls.
- Forward emergencies to the on-call supervisor.
- Maintain supportive but professional interactions.
Additional Duties
- Assist with emergency shelter admissions when necessary.
- Ensure fire exits remain clear.
- Monitor building systems.
- Complete assigned projects during slower overnight periods.
- Participate in agency trainings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working overnight preferred.
- Excellent observation skills.
- Ability to remain alert throughout shift.
- Ability to work independently.
- CPR/First Aid preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Background check required.

Pay: $23.01 - $27.71 per hour
