An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in a specialized animal health compounding pharmacy. This full-time, onsite role in Bakersfield, CA, requires strong leadership to oversee pharmacy operations that produce high-quality compounded medications. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to strict quality and compliance standards while fostering continuous improvement within the compounding team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pharmacists to meet performance and quality goals
- Manage daily compounding operations and workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with USP standards, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements
- Maintain accurate training documentation and enforce proper compounding procedures
- Assist with drug selection for dispensing and compound preparations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced formulations
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams
- Uphold confidentiality and follow all company and regulatory policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience within a pharmacy lab environment
- 2 to 5 years’ compounding experience, preferably in a specialized setting
- Strong knowledge of USP standards, State Board regulations, and 503A compliance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000, plus bonus potential
