Position Summary
The Inventory Management Specialist is primarily responsible for accurately and safely weighing, dispensing, aliquoting, labeling, and documenting laboratory products including research reagent. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong laboratory skills, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. In addition, the employee will assist the Logistics Team with shipping, receiving, and other related tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities and duties
Chemical Handling
● Weigh research reagent accurately using laboratory balances(readability 0.1mg and 0.01mg).
● Dispense research reagent into storage containers according to SOPs.
● Prevent cross-contamination during weighing operations, and minimize sample loss during transfer.
● Label products correctly.
● Complete all required records and documentation.
● Keep the work area clean and organized.
Safety & Quality
● Follow all laboratory SOPs and safety procedures.
● Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
● Handle chemicals safely and prevent contamination.
● Report equipment or quality issues to the supervisor.
● Ensure dispensing accuracy meets internal tolerances.
● Perform double-check verification of weights and labels.
Inventory & Logistics
● Update inventory after dispensing research reagent.
● Help maintain accurate inventory records.
● Assist with receiving, packing, shipping, and other logistics tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
● 1-2 years of Experience with research reagent weighing and handling or laboratory sample preparation is preferred.
● Experience with hazardous chemical handling is an advantage.
● Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office/Excel).
● Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Environment
● Laboratory and warehouse environment.
● Regular handling of research reagents, biological samples and laboratory equipment.
● Must follow all company safety and environmental (EHS) requirements.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
