Overview

Duties
- Safely operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Perform order picking using barcode scanning technology and manual methods to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying shipment details, and ensuring proper documentation in compliance with OSHA safety protocols
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic mechanical repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure optimal forklift operation
- Follow warehouse safety standards in production environments by adhering to OSHA regulations and implementing proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting
- Support warehouse management in implementing distribution strategies by organizing materials for optimal space utilization and workflow efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts or similar material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution center setting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and order picker operations
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols including OSHA standards related to forklift operation, heavy equipment use, and manual handling procedures
- Experience with inventory management practices such as stock counting, cycle counting, and materials handling procedures
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repair or troubleshooting forklift issues is a plus
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving processes within a warehouse environment
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and shipment documentation
