Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Remote Biller to join our healthcare billing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the complete billing process for medical services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining clear communication with healthcare providers and insurance companies. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and support high-quality patient care. Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and regulations.
- Review and verify patient information, medical records, and coding details such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure accuracy.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by contacting insurance companies or patients to resolve discrepancies or gather additional information.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding balances within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing issues, update medical records, and ensure proper documentation for claims processing.
- Stay current with healthcare claims management practices, health insurance policies, and coding updates to optimize reimbursement processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing statements or insurance coverage promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of healthcare claims management processes.
- Familiarity with medical coding systems including DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Experience working with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and medical records management.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented approach.
