Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) specializing in skilled nursing facilities (SNF) on a contract basis. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care, enhance recovery, and promote independence among diverse populations. Your expertise will help improve quality of life for patients across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home health environments. This position offers weekly pay and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives through skilled occupational therapy interventions.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility support, to foster independence and functional improvement
- Implement individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to medical and therapeutic goals
- Support patients with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism, geriatrics, pediatrics, and those experiencing childhood developmental delays
- Facilitate patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through proper manual handling techniques
- Contribute to the assessment process by observing patient progress and reporting findings to supervising therapists
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately document patient care activities and progress notes
- Engage in skilled nursing facility activities such as inpatient therapy sessions, outpatient clinics, or home health visits as needed
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program
- Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities (SNF), inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, or home health environments
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and implement care plans effectively
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, autism, geriatrics, pediatrics, or developmental delays
- Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and medical terminology is advantageous
- Familiarity with occupational therapy techniques for clients with neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices

Pay: $2,150.00 - $2,250.00 per week
