Mundo Hospitality Group is a growing company with a small, tight-knit group of dedicated individuals that are passionate about food, beverage, and service. We are looking for efficient and diligent prep cooks to join our kitchen team at FeedFolks. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced culinary environment and as a part of a team. You will be expected to complete routine prep tasks such as setting up workstations and preparing food for a day of service. Adhering to food safety rules and regulations is a must.
Responsibilities
- Follow prep lists created by the chef team to organize daily duties.
- Wash, chop, and portion vegetables, proteins, and other ingredients.
- Measure, season, and prepare items accurately to recipe standards.
- Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and batch recipes to chef’s specifications.
- Label, date, and rotate all product properly (FIFO).
- Follow cooling and storage standards (below 70°F in 2 hours, 40°F in 4 hours).
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, and removing trash.
- Store all food and supplies properly, following safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team when directed.
- Break down prep area at end of shift: consolidate, label, wrap, sanitize surfaces.
Requirements
- 1–2 years kitchen experience preferred, but training is provided.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
- Available to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand and move for extended periods of time (entire shift).
- Patient and able to stay positive under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent desirable; culinary training is an asset.
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish is a major advantage.
