Great Lakes Neurobehavioral Center (GLNC) is expanding and is excited to announce an opportunity to join its team. GLNC provides comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments, as well as interventions to assist parents and families in understanding a child’s strengths and challenges. GLNC offers evidence-based psychological and neuropsychological services to develop skills and provide supports for greater success in the lives of children. Services are provided under the umbrella of managed care. Located on the edge of beautiful Centennial Lake in Edina, MN, GLNC is located approximately 15 miles south/southwest of downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul and provides needed psychological services to both suburban and urban communities. In addition to its clinical services, the clinic has a developing training program that enlivens work at all levels of the organization.
Clinicians at GLNC utilize a multi-layered approach to evaluate the child’s cognitive, neurobehavioral, emotional, and individual skills as they contribute to a better understanding of the child’s functioning. Therapy is provided to children, adolescents and families to address a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. GLNC therapists use research-based treatments to address a variety of concerns, such as:
- Anxiety Disorders (e.g., Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Phobias, etc.)
- Mood Disorders (e.g., Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder)
- ADHD
- Adjustment Disorders
- Behavioral Disorders
- Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (e.g., Trichotillomania, chronic skin picking, severe nail biting, etc.)
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Carrying psychotherapy caseload as defined by clinic
- The provision of clinical services including conducting diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and discharge planning for patients of the clinic
- Attending and participating in staff meetings
- Business meetings, and other meetings as required by GLNC
- Compliance with clinic documentation standards
- Compliance with respective licensing board rules and professional association codes of ethics
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with staff, patients, and business associates of clinic
- Keeping abreast of billing issues and discussing with patients when necessary
- Adherence to directives by applicable direct clinical and administrative supervisors
- A master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage & family therapy from a regionally-accredited academic program.
- Full, unrestricted licensure as a Mental Health Professional in Minnesota (LP, LPCC, LICSW, LMFT)
- Ability and willingness to service patients primarily on an outpatient basis
- The ability to competently and independently provide psychotherapy to one or more of the following groups as assigned: children, adolescents, or families
- Flexibility to meet when patients are available to meet
- Evidence of a high level of professionalism within the field
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to respect diversity and integrate issues of culture into case conceptualizations
- Ability to comply with clinic documentation standards and best professional practices
- Previous experience carrying a full outpatient caseload
