Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler for a contract opportunity located in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities:
- Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
- Working knowledge and use of tools used for cable manufacturing (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).
- Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
- Candidates must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop a strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to find faults in signal and connectivity issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with 1 to 3 years (or more) of experience with cable building and/or electrical/mechanical assembly experience.
- Working knowledge of specialized tools (Crimpers, wire strippers) and equipment used during cable assembly process.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Current certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Current certification in J-STD-001.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with space addendum.
- Current certification in J-STD-001 with space addendum.
Shift:
2nd shift position Mon-Fri (4:00pm-12:30am)
