Job Summary
Wellpath Tranz is seeking dependable, professional, and compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Drivers to join our growing team. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospital discharges, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare-related destinations while providing excellent customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience (NEMT, shuttle, taxi, rideshare, delivery, commercial driving, or similar)
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License
- F Endorsement required
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
Responsibilities
- Safely transport ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to scheduled appointments.
- Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility devices.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance concerns.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding trip status and scheduling.
- Complete required trip documentation accurately and on time.
- Treat all passengers with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
- Comply with HIPAA, ADA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous NEMT or medical transportation experience
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required)
- Defensive driving training
- Experience transporting elderly or disabled passengers
