Indian River County
This is skilled water safety work, involving the prevention of accidents and injuries, and responding with effective care and treatment to emergency situations at aquatic pool areas. Provides supervision of lifeguards and facility when supervisor is off site. Reports to the Facilities Supervisors and/or Aquatic Manager.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Performs all duties as a lifeguard

Responsible for the safety of the facility patrons

Responsible for the supervision of the lifeguard staff

Enforces all rules, policies, and regulations

Responds to patron inquiries and concerns

Inspects the facility, on a daily basis, and reports any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Facility Supervisor immediately

Maintains records and reports, including incident reports
-
Helps to plan and provide in-service training for lifeguard staff

Maintains records and documents of water quality and chemical balance, and adds chemicals to water as necessary

Assists with and supervises special events, swim meets, and other events
-
Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Facility Supervisor and/or Aquatic Manager

Performs other duties as assigned
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Employee will perform job duties primarily outdoors at an outdoor pool environment including outdoor environmental weather conditions will include (heat, cold, wind, and rain). Employee could also be exposed to noised, fumes and odors. Frequently working with wet surfaces.
