Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling operations. This role requires experience with heavy equipment operation, warehouse management systems, and adherence to OSHA safety standards. The Warehouse Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through shipping and receiving processes, utilizing various mechanical tools and equipment to support warehouse functions.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments and preparing items for dispatch
- Use cranes and other heavy machinery safely to handle large or bulky items
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and materials handling tools to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Assist in inventory management by organizing stock locations and maintaining accurate records of materials handled
- Follow OSHA safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment
- Support warehouse supervision in maintaining efficient workflow and adhering to operational standards
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury
- Collaborate with team members on construction or maintenance projects within the warehouse as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or related roles within a warehouse environment
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery and safety procedures (OSHA compliance preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety standards for heavy lifting and equipment operation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with shipping & receiving processes is highly desirable
- Construction or industrial background is a plus, especially involving heavy equipment operation or materials handling
- Valid certification for forklift operation or crane operation is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
