Guardian Remodeling Corp is looking for an experienced, professional Tile Setter / Bathroom Remodeler to join our team. We work on residential remodeling projects throughout Westchester and Putnam County, NY.
Tile setting must be your primary skill. This is not an entry-level or general laborer position. Applicants must have professional experience completing bathroom and shower tile installations and be capable of working independently.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and can handle tile installations from preparation through final grout and caulk. The ideal candidate is also all-around handy and able to assist with other phases of bathroom renovations and remodeling.
Tile Responsibilities
- Professional wall and floor tile installation
- Bathroom and shower tile layout
- Shower wall and shower floor installation
- Bathroom floor installation
- Shower pan preparation and installation
- Waterproofing shower walls, floors, niches, and other wet areas
- Install cement board and tile backer systems
- Install and finish shower niches
- Accurately measure, cut, level, and lay out tile
- Install tile edging and trim
- Grouting, caulking, and final tile finishing
- Properly prepare surfaces before tile installation
- Maintain clean, professional finished work
Additional Remodeling Skills
The primary position is tile setting, but candidates should be willing and able to assist our team with:
- Bathroom demolition and preparation
- Basic framing and carpentry
- Sheetrock and cement board installation
- Basic trim and finish carpentry
- Painting and touch-ups
- Light plumbing work when needed
- Installing bathroom fixtures and accessories
- General remodeling and construction tasks
- Jobsite protection and cleanup
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional tile-setting experience preferred
- Must have strong experience with residential bathrooms and showers
- Must be able to complete tile work independently
- Must understand proper shower waterproofing and preparation
- Must have experience with tile layout, cutting, grout, and caulk
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have your own basic tools
- Must be dependable and show up on time
- Must be comfortable working throughout Westchester and Putnam County
- Must be able to work well independently and as part of a remodeling crew
- Must maintain a clean and organized jobsite
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a tile setter first and an all-around remodeler second. Someone who is excellent at tile but can also help with framing, Sheetrock, painting, trim, demolition, and light plumbing is the ideal fit.
