Description
The Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC) is currently accepting applications for Camp Counselors. Camp Counselors provide direct supervision of a group of children during day camp. Our staff provide quality experiences and environment for the children and parents. A qualified individual will be energetic, creative, professional, patient and share a love for working with kids.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Create a fun and safe environment for all kids

Ability to engage children between 6 years - 12 years of age for extended periods of time

Plan, lead, and take part in various indoor and outdoor activities
-
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate weekly and daily activities
-
Follow program requirements and standards for safety and cleanliness
-
Create and maintain relationships with children and parents
-
Communicate effectively with other staff, supervisors, and parents
-
Manage conflict and issues with campers across a multitude of developmental stages

Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Criminal background check required prior to hiring

Must have proven organization skill

Ability to provide high energy, high enthusiasm, and a positive personality each and every day

High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college in an educational field preferred
-
Previous experience supervising or working with groups of children; experience in a licensed childcare center preferred but not required

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications are current or obtained within 30 days of hire date

Must have a passion for working with kids & giving them the best experience possible

Must be available to work weekdays between during camp hours (TBD)
