As a Patient Care Technician in Inpatient Services, you will provide compassionate, hands-on support to patients while assisting the nursing team in delivering high-quality care. You’ll play a key role in helping patients with daily activities and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. In this role, you will:
- Provide basic patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, following established policies and procedures.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, ambulation, feeding, toileting, and repositioning.
- Respond promptly to call lights and ensure patient needs are met in a timely and respectful manner.
- Support patient safety by following infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene and isolation protocols.
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the primary nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
- Adapt to changing patient needs, staffing levels, and patient acuity, including floating to other areas when needed.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive, compassionate care.
- Deliver excellent customer service using AIDET, hourly rounding, bedside communication, and other patient experience best practices.
- Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in ongoing education and complete required competencies to maintain and grow skills.
- Support orientation and training of new staff or students as needed.
- Promote a positive team environment through respectful communication and collaboration.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program or
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Care Provider program
- Certification as a CNA, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Care Provider
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
