Job Description: Maintenance Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Manager will have the responsibility of running day-to-day maintenance for a plant consist of welding, machining, SPMs and press assembly machines production. This includes assigning work orders to maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with documented procedures, driving continuous improvement and professional development of the maintenance staff. Responsible to provide maintenance coverage for all shift production and reduce unplanned failures on production and facility equipment. Able to support and participate on continuous improvement functions on the plant equipment and machinery with limited direction and guidance. Demonstrate a spirit of teamwork and cooperation to improve overall plant OEE. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion, safely, professionally and efficiently to achieve company’s objectives.
· Responsible for keeping machine up time and OEE per company norms and shall improve continually
· Ensure employees and equipment safety on first priority and follow HSE safety guidelines.
- Do trouble shooting of equipment and machinery enable smooth running of production
- Coordinate with production staffs and provide required support to achieve company’s objectives
- Responsible for installation and maintenance of machinery, equipment, etc.
- Oversees work performed by outside contractors as necessary
- Keeps related records and charts trends per standard operating procedures and Quality Management System
- Ensures departmental compliance with company policies, including safety regulations
- Responsible for facility maintenance and assist in managing expansion projects
- Schedules and perform preventative and predictive maintenance and keep related records
- Trains, directs, develops, supervises and evaluates subordinates periodically
- Ensures compliance with Environmental standards and Quality system standard IATF 16949
- Directs and completes all emergency repairs of plant equipment in entire plant as necessary
· Ensure good house keeping (5S requirements) at all times
· Co-ordinate with purchase for the need of required spares, tooling and supplies
· Always maintain critical spare parts inventory for machineries
· Motivate and establish total involvement of employees on the job and gathering suggestions
· Responsible for achieving departmental objectives, continual improvements including MTTR & MTBF
· To take appropriate corrective action for any safety, maintenance and process issues
· Participate in daily production meeting and take required actions per outcome of meeting.
- Follow standard practices and all government regulations and laws relating to powered equipment
- Manage installation of new machines, relocation of old machines and executes new plant layout
- Perform all other duties as and when assigned
QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE:
· Associate degree in technical field, GED or any other degree with minimum 8 years’ experience in Automotive Manufacturing Industry.
· Extensive knowledge with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems. MUST HAVE a background of working with and maintaining Robot Welding, CNC machines and balancing machines
· Understand the major components of CNC machines and their function. (Electronics, Servo CNC systems, Sensors, PLC, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, etc.)
· Familiarity with complex machinery, electrical circuits, and plant operating equipment.
· Must have strong background skill set in trouble shooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC and other equipment
· Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
· Strong organizational and leadership skills
· Ability to stand for long periods on shop floor
· Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
· Must be able to train, assist, lead, direct, instruct and discipline employees
· Firm understanding of safety regulations including MIOSHA and Government.
· Ability to work at a computer workstation using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Strong sense of time management and urgency
· Experience in IATF-16949 Quality Management System and Internal audits preferred
· Ability to manage, navigate unexpected challenges with a focus to rapidly find solutions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Sitting, squatting, walking, bending 8 –10 hours per day
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
· Must be able to work in different weather conditions
· Exposure to production environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· This role functions in a welding, assembly and machine shop environment
· This role routinely uses standard and special purpose equipment such as CNC machines, robots welding, assembly fixtures and tools
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
· Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when in a production area
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
